Se trata de un amuleto egipcio muy popular. Los Patecos eran ayudantes del dios artesano Ptah. Su principal función es la de proteger y defender de todo mal a su portador. El aspecto del enano es tosco; va desnudo, luce barriga y tiene la cabeza afeitada. / It is a very popular Egyptian amulet. The Patecos were helpers of the artisan god Ptah. Its main function is to protect and defend its carrier from all evil. The appearance of the dwarf is rough; he is naked, shows belly and has a shaved head.

Detalles de la pieza / Artwork Details:

La figura sujeta una serpiente en cada mano que simbolizan la Heka, el dominio de la magia. Sobre la cabeza lleva un escarabajo sagrado, uno de los amuletos más poderosos del antiguo Egipto: es el dios Jepri, representa el amanecer, el que acompaña a las almas cuando resucitan como el Sol, por el horizonte. / The figure holds a snake in each hand that symbolises the Heka, the domain of magic. On his head he carries a sacred beetle, one of the most powerful amulets of ancient Egypt: it is the god Jepri, it represents the dawn, the one that accompanies the souls when they resurrect like the Sun, on the horizon.
