Detalles de la pieza / Artwork Details:

Fayenza.

(Martin-Valentin, 2002)

This Faience amulet symbolizes the cycle of life and resurrection, as indicated in Chapter 160 of the Book of the Dead.

«I am the Wadi column of green faience, which has not dried, adored by the hand of Thoth. It abhors evil, and when it is unharmed, I am unharmed; when it is without evil, I am without evil and vice versa; when it is without wound, I am without wound and vice versa. What Thoth has said is what ties your back: be welcomed in peace. Great one of Heliopolis, Great one who dwells in Pe. Words that will be pronounced on the Wadi column of green faience, placed at the neck of the beneficiary, on which this formula will be inscribed.» (Martin-Valentín, 2002).
